What is Salary Calculator?

A tool that subtracts the National Pension, health, long-term care and employment insurance, plus income tax and local income tax, from your annual or monthly pay to show what you actually take home each month. It uses 2026 rates, and everything you enter is calculated in your browser and never sent to a server.

How to use

  1. Enter your annual (or monthly) pay in units of 10,000 KRW.
  2. Set the monthly non-taxable amount (meals, etc.), number of dependents and children aged 20 or under.
  3. Check the box if your annual salary includes severance pay.
  4. Check your monthly take-home pay and the deduction breakdown.

Tips

  • Meal allowances are tax-free up to 200,000 KRW a month, so receiving a separate meal allowance lowers social insurance and tax.
  • If your contract includes severance in the annual salary, monthly pay is calculated by dividing by 13.
  • Bonuses, incentives and allowances are not included, so calculate with the base annual salary you receive every month.

FAQ

Why does it differ from my actual payslip?
Income tax is read directly from the NTS earned-income withholding table (revised February 2026), the same basis companies use to withhold each month. It can still differ from your payslip if the company chose a different withholding ratio (80%, 100% or 120%) or if you have bonuses, allowances or other deductions.
Which rates are used?
Based on 2026: National Pension 4.75% (employee), health insurance 3.595%, long-term care 13.14% of the health premium, employment insurance 0.9%. The rates are updated whenever they change each year.
Does it also calculate the year-end tax refund?
No. It only calculates the take-home pay you receive each month. Year-end refunds or extra payments depend on card spending and your deduction items.
